For Daily???

So I was thinking.....A lot of people seem to run both pos. and neg. wire from their main battery especially those who compete in order to reduce voltage drop.

I have never been so concerned when building up daily beaters.....But this one will be running a wee bit more power than the norm.

So, should I:

A) Run more positive wire from my underhood bat. to the bank in the trunk (probably 5-6 runs), and no neg. runs, and just ground the bank in the trunk like normal.

B) Run say.....4-5 runs of pos. and 4-5 runs of neg. from the front batt to the rear bank, and if I do it this way, should I still ground teh bank in the trunk?

Opinions, and reasons??? Right now, I'm leaning towards option A.

depends, how many watts are you pushing? need a lil more info..
Probably will be a true 6kw at 13.8V before impedance rise, and I would like to have the option to run more power later if I ever decide to wihout running more wire through the car.

Probably will do a 300A alty with an HC1600 or 1800 under the hood and 2-3 hc2400's in the trunk.

for that much power id think anyone who has a system like that for daily (holy shit) would need the best flow possible grounding in the trunk with 6000 watts eh not the best of ideas plus i hope you have the electrical to back that for a daily whip

my system is daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif.. woo woo.

Yeah.....Like I said, atleast 300A worth of alty's, and plenty of battery power. It's not like I'm going to actually listen to that much for lengthy periods of time, so I don't expect the alty to be able to quite keep up with 6k worth of continuous draw.

But it looks like people are saying to go with both + and - runs from my front battery to the bank in the back. So should I also ground the rear bank to a ground spot in the trunk? Or is the ground to the underhood battery enough? I'm assuming I should ground the rear bank to a ground spot in the trunk as well.

Looks like I'm going to need another spool or two of 1/0.....

Grounding in the trunk when also running a ground from your front may induce ground noise. You could consider some 4/0 or 2/0 and do less runs.

Already have two spools of 1/0 hyperflex. I'm figuring 4-5 runs of each should be sufficient.

So if I run ground runs from my underhood battery, definately don't ground the back bank to a ground spot in the trunk as well?

I don't have experience in running that much power, but I'd say no. The grounds coming from your front should be more than sufficient as your ground and you always want the least amount of grounding spots as possible to help prevent noise.

Are you running 4 amps? Is that why you want to do 4 runs of 1/0? I'd think 1/0 could easily carry 200 amps continuously. 3 runs at 13.8 V would carry about 8200 watts.
