FOR ALL YOU Vista LOVERS

Here's actual facts ... User poll on CNET ...
CNET-GoodForSomethingAfterall.jpg

Hmmm, 12% who were polled owned Vista and had problems with it. 49% own Vista and have little to no problems with it.

So, if you take people who actually own it, 49/61 = 80.3% of people who OWN Vista have little-to-no problems with it.
how is that a true survey 61 people, hell for all we know that could a few vista people here on this forum voting or being surveyed over and over let see 200,000> 61:rolleyes: says they like XP better then vista and I have played with vista you really have to tweak it to get it right and then you have dig really deep to find hardware to work with it iof you are lucky.

my desktop sucks. 512 mb ram. 80 gig hard drive. vista is really annoying.

my laptop runs vista nicely. 2 gigs ram. 160 gig hard drive. you can also do some simple things to make it run better. i like using vista. no noticeable speed difference between xp and vista on my laptop.

My retarded *** installed vista over xp...can I remove vista and get back my xp and all its programs without the XP disc?
Do you still have the authentication code? I think you can call up MS and have them send you the discs for like 20 bucks

Thats not 61 people you halfwit.

61 PERCENT of the people who took the pole use vista.

As for vista versus xp, I like the looks of vista. It definitely does take some getting used to, but it functions very well for me. No problems yet. 2 gigs of RAM, dual core AMD processors, 160 gig HD. Never had any lagging problems or anything.

My desktop runs xp and was slow as shit whenever I tried to use a few programs at the same time. That was when it had 256 mb of RAM, which was the UPGRADE at the time I got my desktop. Now it's got a gig and runs great.

Just like back when xp came out, of course there are going to be some bugs to work out AND the computer has to be up to the task. An out of date computer is going to run shitty no matter what OS is on it. And nowadays a gig is the minimum you will see.

XP was never this much of a resource pig. As far as an every day user, I don't see any advantage to Vista. In which case I will take a machine built for running Vista, load XP, and you have a millions time faster machine that suites all my needs for now. Murray
False. XP won't efficiently handle as much memory or threads as Vista will.

As you add more current hardware the more Vistas focus becomes apparent.

XP was this much of a hog on its debut. I went back to 98SE for 6 months because my 500Mhz Athlon with 256MB RAM was considerably slower on XP.

And how much pre-installed shit was there from factory ?
All was removed. Mind you, I'm comparing this to XP & OS X. I'm in the debate now to switch it over to Linux, but seeing as she uses it for school I'm not sure how well it would agree with her.

I waited a year to get it so that all of the random little tweaks that every OS needs would be fixed, but now that I have it its quite usable and very quick.

Vista is great if you aren't on food stamps running a celeron from the late 90s with 256mb of ram that's shared with the onboard video card.

And I definitely am faster and more knowledgeable than anyone who disagrees.

I love Ubuntu myself. I dual boot with it on my main machine.

I just installed SP1 on my little bro's gamming CPU lastnight...we will see how it goes when I get back into town.

I still perfer XP, but since they are dropping updates/support in '09 I will be forced to switch in a year.

Isn't there a problem with Vista making it harder to dual boot? I heard it uses it's own boot menu and it's a pain to do, or something like that, a buddy was telling me about it but I wasn't really listening. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Cumbersome, yes, but not impossible.
