My girlfriend's laptop has it and it runs fine. I uninstalled a lot of the bloatware from the factory and tweaked some settings. She'll have photoshop open, multiple tabs online, and music. Keeps on trucking. Then again, save for my POS PC that had Windows98 on it, I've never had a problem with Windows. Meh.

My brother just built two identical rigs for his wife and him running Vista 64. Machines scream with no stability issues. He had C&C3 open at the same time as an MMO. Alt-tab into the other without a hiccup. His wife could easily run two accounts of WoW, doing the same thing.

And *gasp* at the original post. A developer not liking the final outcome? That shit has never happened. Anywhere. Music, movies, games, software, buildings. Not a ****ing thing has ever disappointed the creator, you ****ing ****.

I find all this chit talk about Vista comical.

It's like a Chevy guy talking crap about Ford, or a Honda guy, about Nissan. If it gets you from point A to B effectively, then who cares?

I've been using Vista since it came out. It works efficiently and I haven't had one problem with it.

Likewise, I have lots of experience with MACs.. I'm no computer programmer or scientist, but they are the same fuking thing to me, save for cost.

Just like a Ford, just like a Chevy, just like a Honda, just like a Nissan... They all start when you turn the fukin ignition, likewise, a computer turns on when you push the power button and COMPUTES...... You are not grasping the issue. It is not as simple as it gets you from point A to point B. While Vista may be good for some people, when used in some applications it may not be as efficient as XP or another OS. Your logic is like saying it makes perfect sense to take a dump truck from cali to new york versus a car because it gets you from point A to point B. It is not practical.

Im not hating on Vista, I am just expressing that my experience with it was unpleasant. After reading some of these guys experiences, I will have to give it another try

All I know is that it was the exact same talk when XP came out. Every geek kept saying "Win2k treats me just fine and with less bloat" BLAH BLAH BLAH. The gamers said Win98SE was less of a resource hog and they got an additional 5 FPS, that is if it didn't lockup into a BSOD lol.

i have it on my laptop that came w 512 MB of ram.

so i added a gig of memory and it got much faster.

at first it was kinda slow but now its awesome....have had very few compatibility issues...
