XP was never this much of a resource pig. As far as an every day user, I don't see any advantage to Vista. In which case I will take a machine built for running Vista, load XP, and you have a millions time faster machine that suites all my needs for now.
Not to mention how much they changed Vista. There are a million programs out there that Vista is not compatible with. The software for our system is pretty much as simple as it gets, and we can't run it on Vista. We have to use Vista's "XP Mode", which I will admit I don't know what it is.
I was flying with this girl sitting next to me. She was a Rep for Microsoft. This was just before Vista was released. She was on her way to a big meeting to show how great Vista was. When asked how she liked Vista herself she gave me a sheeping smile and said "it's alright. It uses a lot of resources. I prefer XP".
I hope there are features to Vista that I don't know about, that someone can find handy. So far Vista seems like another ME incident.
