This is something I probably should of posted last month or so, but never got around to it. Its not really to boast or anything (admittedly my vehcle was never supposed to be good for driveby competition)....but so many people where there to see it and took pics of what happened (like the 100 or so there during finals) that its silly not for everyone else here not to enjoy what I managed to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

enjoy.

Subsquently I did win 2nd place at world finals that weekend, so I have no place to complain. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I love the facial expression in the ending picture
Thats my **** eatn grin look //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

btw, folding a sub is just that - folding it inside out from the pressure / abuse at competitions....its when you excede the mechanical limits of the material the sub is made out of.

In my case I was running 12kw into one 18" sub, so thats probably why I had a slight problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

whoa, your jeep doesn't like drive by at all. i saw that sub, all you have to do is screw off the motor, and screw on a new top assembly?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice Vid!!!

Can you clarify what makes a better driveby car?

Big windows?

I would think an SUV allows for the bass to exit pretty easily...would facing the sub up help in driveby?

Lol I did the same to an IDMax //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif nice tho. The voice coil was like stuck in the cone.

They meter ur SPL score a few feet away from the car with i think 1 window open, not sure. I think its suppose to mimic the distance u are from the sidewalk

Yes thats sort of the idea, but you can have any combination of window / sunroof / back window open in order to increase your score outside of the vehicle. The meter is 6 foot away, and now to the new MECA rules this year can be on either side of the vehicle during your run.

but yeah, the crowd went wild when they saw equipment blowing up. Was a great way to end the compeition weekend.....with a pile of fuxored recones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...
