Right now I have my rainbows set to the following on my 9887 active:

Low- 63hz @ 12db

Mid-L set to 63hz, 12db

Mid-H set to 5khz 12db

High- 5khz 12db

RIght now I do not have my gains set 100% correctly...but pretty close. Im going to eventually set them with a DMM to get 90-100w per door for the mids, and probably 50w or so for each tweet.

I have found that when I turn the crossover down on the tweeter, it gets harsher.

Both the Mid and tweets should be 4 ohms right? Not having the passive crossover doesnt change anything right? So if you could clarify what you meant that would be awesome.

Most component sets use 6 or 8ohm tweeters...I actually think the TN52 in the K2P set is a 6ohm, which really isn't a big deal.

Yeah those crossover points are really high compared to most active setups. I always try to find a tweeter that I can crossover pretty low because my tweeters are in the a-pillar and I want to keep as much of the stage up high.

But if it sounds good to you, then it's all good. I believe the K2P set crosses the mid and tweet at 3.15khz, but with just a 12db/oct slope. If your 9887 has 24db/oct crossovers you could probably drop the tweeter to 2.5khz.

I wonder what ohm my "CAL 20 Silk" from rainbow is?... I checked their specifications here:

and did not see anything? I did see it said 4 ohm, but im assuming that is for the component set with the passive x over?....

Yeah, the 4ohm rating is for the set after it's filtered throught the passive x-over.

The majority of companies use 6 or 8ohm tweeters in their comp sets, so it's more than likely not a 4ohm tweeter.

It doesn't really matter so long as it blends well with the mid and sounds good to you.

Your absolutely right, I really just emailed them to see what they say..I can barely tune a mid let along a tweeter!

I'ma open my door panels next time...see if I can make my Type X do that haha. Well I doubt it will even go that far with 75 watts.
