Fixing up an old box

Hey, I just bought some type r's which came with a box from the previous owner... I'm still working on getting a new one made - so for now i want to use this box temporarily.

I just have a quick question.... the previous owner drilled 2 holes to run speaker wire from the subs to the amp and filled them in with what looks like glue? ( i have no clue why he did this as there are clips at the back for 2 channels). Would I be able to remove this and seal it or should i just leave it temporarily.

Also, he screwed down a fuse block which I will be removing, what should I fill the screw holes with?

Any help is appreciated!

Stuff wood-glue mixed with sawdust into the

holes using wood toothpicks, break off the toothpick

into the hole, let set. sand.

hmm okay, im going to post up a pic - the wholes he drilled for the speaker wire are pretty big (almost the size of a quarter)
You may be better off patching that with a small piece of scrap mdf, some wood glue, a couple of brads.

you said the holes are filled in? just cut the wire. sounds like a POS box anyway you are getting a new one soon so as long as the holes don't leak what does it matter. When you get your new box keep it pretty.
