Fixing an old Eclipse and looking at DDX6902s DDX9902s

I have an old Eclipse CD8053 that gave me the best sound quality in a head unit I've ever heard, but it sadly crapped out on me. Remote wire is broke, and about a year later it over heated and the CD stopped spinning. I wouldn't mind getting this fixed and sent out an email to Eclipse. They pointed me in the direction of someone who can fix it, but parts might be an issue. Has anyone ever been in my situation and still sent it out? What happened?

If not, I'm looking at the Kenwood Excelon DDX9902s or the DDX6902s for my head unit. I chose this one because out of the brands I know(Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse

Budget? Does it have to be double din or is single din fine? The Pioneer 80prs has a 5volt preamp and I know many eclipse units are known for 5v also. Many tuning options for the 80prs and it's pretty **** affordable. You can go full volume on this thing without distortion too.

For steering wheel control you gotta buy an adapter for it and install it with your headunit together. You can go to crutchfield and they can show you what available adpaters there are.

Budget is $1000 and below. The lower the price without sacrificing what I want and reliability, the better.

I can't find any new Eclipse head units, are they online only now? I forgot to mention that I want the unit to be a double din. Sorry about that. Regarding the adapter, I saw that there's 3 of them. Which is better and why? Does that even matter? It's just signaling, correct?

One more thing, the dash kits that I am seeing are only Metra and Schoche and I keep reading that the bottom of the kit doesn't stay flush. I can't seem to find any other brands, are there any?

Well i'm a big fan of the oldschool headunits actually but none of them have carplay. Only the new ones do. If you can live without the carplay, then there are plenty of choices out there. Yeah eclipse is gone now. Only used stuff now. I still see them on ebay but not many. Alpine makes a lot of good double dins IMO. They are all 4v I believe but it is more than enough. Maybe you might like the Alpine iLX-007. It's perfect for CarPlay but doesn't have a dvd player. The Alpine INE-w960 looks badazz. Has a great User interface and tuning options but doesnt have Carplay lol.

For the adapter, what brands do they offer? Can you link them for me? I don't think they are all the same bc from what I read from some reviews, some have like a few second lag time when u press it, while others work flawlessly.
