first year of college:on campus or off??

so im still deciding whether i want to get an apartment off campus or to get a dorm.Either way im gonna b with friends but the apartment is cheaper,2 floors,2.5 baths,and right by campus and the dorm is on campus but real small.I cant decide which way to go,ive heard its better to live on campus ur first year so u can meet a lot of new ppl and b able to walk to all ur classes but the apartment is pretty close and a hell of a lot bigger and would b real sweet for parties.

I would probably have gone with the apartment in your case. Unfortunately we have to live in the dorms first year here. Despite that I have 6 weeks left of the year and am going to be living in a house next year, definitely looking forward to it but looking back I probably wouldn't give up the dorm experience I have had over the past 7 months. Up to u man!

You can always get an apartment 2nd year. I made a ton of friends in the dorms my first year. Well, then again, I made a ton of friends the next few years too. You make friends in your classes and shit.

If the apartment is cheaper, go for the apartment. Just invite ppl in you classes to parties and you'll still make friends //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

meeting hot chix is a big goal of mine but if i get the apartment ill still b real close to campus,ill meet them in class and at the gym,the apartments im looking at r on the same road as the campus apartments,u can almost see them from the apartments im lookin at.

i should also mention this,1 of the main reasons im considering a dorm in the first place is bcuz 1 of the ppl getting the apartment with me isnt the brightest or most motivated kid and im afraid hed drop out and leave me and my friend to pay for the apartment w/out him

plenty of time to have parties in the next few years... i would live in the dorms the 1st year. I have never had a more fun 2 years than my freshman and sophmore years of school.

Dormatories first year

It's real important to get the sense of friends etc living in real close corners first

plus you get more friends that way

THEN apt next year when you already know everyone

it's much easier to go to a party with someone you know upstairs or next door in a dorm, than it is to travel farther somewhere else to apts to someone you know

which is why 1st year = dorm

deffinitely dorms, especially if they are co-ed. Meeting chicks will never get easier for you than living in a co-ed dorm. I had lot's of fun living in the dorms. Good luck. Where are you going to school?

ya dude 1rst year if u live on campus...you will meet SOOOOOOOOOOO SOOO many ppl...then ull get sick of it and want an apt off campus the next year. trust me of all my friends who did an apt first (or even worse, a house first)...they didnt get as much exposure to people as they would have, and THEY admit that to me.

i lived on campus my first year and love it. you will too man. once u get a hang of things and how it works out here in school youll want ur own apt and get rowdy. for now get ur feet wet on campus, trust me
