First Timer...Some Advice?

Alright, so I've got a '00 Nissan Maxima GLE and I wanted to put some subs in it. Now, I don't need professional quality subs or anything. I don't want to spend a lot on this, as it's not THAT big a deal to me, but I think it would be nice. So here we go:

1) I was wondering if you guys could recommend me a decent Sub/Amp Combo that would work well together.

2) Do I need to buy anything else before I take all this stuff to the shop? I want to buy everything I need and then just have the pro's install it.

3) I want to put them in my trunk, but I don't need them internally mounted into my car. I would be fine doing something like this

Bottom line, I would like to go as cheap as possible. Probably no more than $250

Btw: I was thinkin about 10" or 12" subs with 2 or 4 OHM resistance.

no budget sub will touch a Type R bang for buck imo, so I'd grab a pair of those hands down

I'm talking about Pre-Install. So just equipment for under $250. And do you mean don't waste time/money at a shop by installing it myself?

You could do a diamond D3 12" with a decent amp to push it.. the D3 woofer has completely amazed me when you give it the right box size.

I was being serious 4 funky pups for 40$ cheap 4 channel amp for 80$ HU for 60$ and wire and such for 26$ at walmart. then you can build your own box. shit will be louddddd! ....................or get a deal on some xplods

Best Buy sells combos, Rockford, Kenwood, etc. usually about $250.

If you are trying to get a sub/amp/hu combo for 250 it wont be worth a damm.
