First Subwoofer Setup

Hello forum. I hope this is in the right thread, and hopefully some of you can help me out.

I am new to buying car audio, and would appreciate recommendations.

I have a 1999 Mustang V6 with the Mach sound system. I am planning to build a fiberglass box for the sub(s) to go on the sides of the trunk, behind the wheel wells. Would it be better to use 10 inch subs, or 12? And what brand/model subs and amp would you recommend?

Thanks for the help

I am trying to assist the current system and to have clearer sound out of the other speakers. I would like to be able to play a range of music, but prefer fidelity over pure volume. My budget is around 300 to 400 dollars for the whole setup.

Ok, then you're going to need a LOC (Line out converter) to get the signal from the stock speakers to the amplifier. I'd purchase a Audiopipe APSM-1500, 4 gauge wiring kit, and American Bass XFL 12". All ya need is one since this is your first setup. That should be under your $400 limit.
