mine was at the age of 15, I had a mazda B2000 with a Dr. Crankenstine 10" in a bandpass box (w/plexiglass cover) with a boss amp powering it

Clarion am/fm cassette with a Kraco 10 band eq/power booster into a pair of Cerwin Vega 6x9 coaxes in the rear deck of my 1968 Firebird.

Oh, that was in 1976.

Not much. I could never afford anything when I was in high school, so my first "system" (if you want to call it that) consisted of a Sony tape deck, some 2-way Kenwood 6.5" coaxes in the doors and some Pioneer 2-way 6x8's in the rear panels all stashed in my '88 Escort EXP when I was 19 circa summer of '95. Sounded tons better than stock, but still pretty crappy. It's all I could afford at the time since I was paying for college.
