First install done by me, few questions

I have been reading on posting on here for a while, but honestly i really am having some trouble finding a few things. I had bought my stuff, and being not so handy with electrical tasks (not at all, mind you) i had it all put in by a shop. Well, i got another car, an 2003 ford explorer, and want to do this system myself. I already have a head unit installed (alpine 9886) which i did myself pretty easily (i ordered it off of crutchfield and got all of the pre-fit parts and harness and such), and this time i am going to work on putting the sub and amp in the trunk and wire it all up.

I know what i need to buy, i just honestly don't really know how to wire everything up haha.

Impedance to the sub aside, because i understand the whole ohm thing pretty well, can someone explain this step by step or maybe give me a link to a place that has a diagram/step by step instructions on how to wire a sub/amp to your headunit and battery?
