Fired from my job....for the most bullshit reason.

nbm02ws6-HR wasnt their, it was 5:30 in the morning as i work 3rd shift fright.

That doesnt matter. I fire people all the time (for good reasons, not BS like yours). There has to be an HR approval. I've had to call my store HR at home and have him come in @ 11 o'clock at night before to sign off on terms before.

I'm telling you man, call your district human resource manager as well as the employee careline based out of Atlanta. Dont do anything stupid like go back into work and cause problems, threaten to sue, etc. like these retards are telling you to do. File a complaint, state the facts, and let an investigation be done. ANY call to employee care REQUIRES an investigation...whether its something that is 100% legit or some dumbass employee has a grudge against someone and just wants to dick the person over.

This is what I am wanting to know - if you didn't do anything with the check other than return it once you realized it wasn't yours I cannot see that you have done anything to warrant termination.
Unless you were hiding in the payroll department and put her check in an envelope with your name on it intentionally there's nothing you've done wrong (at least in the story you have related to us thus far)

Assuming you are telling us the truth you most assuredly need to appeal the termination. If there isn't an avenue to pursue an appeal within the company (and as big as Home Depot is I would imagine their Human Resources department has got to be pretty freggin big) then you need to contact your local branch of the labor department and file a wrongful dismissal claim.

Now if there is some crucial information missing from your account of what has occurred then I call //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bsflag.gif.21f42eccd34b7d1eb1608fb1b59b69c3.gif 'cause I just cannot imagine a company as big as Home Depot doing something that could so easily get them in a very, very deep pot of hot water. Companies with hiring/firing practices as shady as what you have described have a tendency to not become nationwide corporations.

I agree with this. I cant see how you got her check and next thing you know you are fired over it. It makes no sense what so ever. I mean didnt you relize it right away and take it back. Unless you have the same name and tried to cash it and did, then yes I can see them firing you for that. So I call BS as well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

knowing his misfortune...he'll probably get caught with the crack //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Karma will get your aunt...

anyways...seriously do something about this. talk to some people ex: labor dept.

No, she claimed i opened the check and saw all of her information but somone saw me open the check only half way, not enough to even see anything.
What did you do with the check afterward?? Did you return it or did you take it??? And if you return the check did you tell whoever gave you the check that it is not your check?? That person whoever hands out the check should be held responsible.

Listen to this man.

Period.

Exactly what information of hers were you supposed to have been privy to that would cause termination? I mean ~ this is your aunt, after all...isn't like it was some complete stranger. Does she think you're going to take her SS# and sign up for a bunch of bogus credit cards or something? This still doesn't makes sense and I get the feeling there are still very important bits of this story you're not bothering to share with us.

I again call //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bsflag.gif.21f42eccd34b7d1eb1608fb1b59b69c3.gif

Call what you want....

I will but i dont even want this job back, because i know that if i **** up once their going to be on my *** and it will probably just happen again.
I understand that you don't want your job back - that would probably be the dominant answer in a group of people in the same situation as you.

I wouldn't just "let it go" though - make sure they know what happened. If you're giving us 100% of the details, there is no way you can go wrong by following through with contacting the HR department and telling your story.

I know that you might feel like you're going to be bullied/bullshitted at work if you got hired (I really don't want to call it hired, because I really don't think you got formally fired - and if you did, I still don't fully understand the justification) back ... and if that happens, well, there are rules and regulations against that type of thing as well. Of course, right now it just seems like a whole bunch more shit you're going to have to deal with ...

Stick up for yourself so the next guy doesn't have to deal with the same bullshit as you did. Then go ahead and kick your aunts teeth down her throat.

My Dads doing that as we speak. And i set up an appointment with the HR for tomarrow. If it is indeed true that there is supposed to be an HR present at the time of firing then i better beable to get some restitution out of this or something.

An HR doesnt need to be present, but needs to sign off on a termination. He/She has the final say. Believe me, the HRs think of all legal ramifications before signing off on a term.
