So i have 2 12'' Type R subwoofers, they handle 500 watt RMS and 1500 peak power. (i read on multiple sources that i shouldn't pay attention to peak power because its nothing)

I'm looking at getting a new mono amp that can properly handle my two subs.

right now i have my subwoofers wired so them wired so they are at 1 ohm. (does me changing the subs to 1 ohm changes the rms?)\

OR

should i look for a mono amp that is 1000 watt at 1 ohm stable to properly power my setup? (500 rms + 500 rms subs at 1 ohm = 1000 rms amp at 1 ohm)

thanks alot fo the recommendation and your quick reply! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i was looking at power acoustik. is that a good brand? (they have pretty good pricing)

and also are the ones you recommended good brands? (not generic like BOSS)

does everyone agree with the 1200-1500 at 1 ohm range?

power acoustic is generally over rated (power wise) my first amp was a BAMF5500 that i later found out really only does about 2k rms at 1 ohm. id recommend the aq or mb quart as well. maybe try an audipipe 1500 if pressed for money.

yeah looks like i'm leaning over towards the MB quart or the audiopipe 1500 (because like misfit and

marcotheclepto recommended)

so mbquart is preferred over the audiopipe? or are they the same? why would one be preferred over the other when they both push out the same 1500 at 1 ohm?

i really appreciate all the quick and helpful replies/recommendations!

i notice the MB quart is more expensive and pushes out

* 4 ohms: 375 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan.

* 1 ohm: 1500 watts x 1 chan.

while the audiopipe is cheaper and pushes out

600W x 1 @ 4 Ohms (RMS)

950W x 1 @ 2 Ohms (RMS)

1500W x 1 @ 1 Ohm (RMS)

it looks like the audiopipe is a better buy? what do you guys think?

bump! it looks like its going to cost more for me to get the audiopipe over the MB quart.

someone please let me know why i should go with the MB quart over the audiopipe! (even tho the audiopipe seems to push out more for 4 ohm and 2 ohms.)
