finding subs for a friend

OK, I'm having a difficult time so now I'm posting here. a friend of mine wants some audio. he is pretty much rebuilding a Mitsubishi cordia, he likes the wow factor, he likes it when people see stuff that is kinda rare. well anyway he has no audio to speak of, no speakers, no h/u, not any wires. he used to be in car audio now hes more of a motor head. he has some grudges against companies who sold out a long time ago, like he hates alpine, kicker, Rockford, sound stream. pretty much doesnt want anything you can get at circuit city/best buy. he wants a spl system, small, cause its a smaller hatch car. he wants:

2x 8 or 2x 10 , to keep the air space under 3cf, prefer 2.5cf

running at 1/2 ohms, so he can use his old school orion HCCA

about 1000 rms off the HCCA (cant remember if its the 250g4 or 275g4)

a quality brand, but not more than $300 each, less is better

wants to buy new, like from an online company or an authorized dealer

not sure if he wants sealed or ported. if its ported, tuned high for spl

he looking to get a Nakamichi head unit, and maybe some hertz energy speakers

recently he heard some hertz subs he kinda liked that are 300 each. he wants some 1508's but will have to get 3 to run at .6 ohms, or run 2x 3510s at 350 each.

bout the only thing i can recommend is some elemental designs or push for the dd's.

yeah i know, but he loves it from when he used to be in audio. i keep telling him to get something else but he wont budge on it. lol.

try audioque.com very nice unknown (kinda) subs. can find a better price. 2 10s of the sd2.5 series will be good at 2.8 cubes tuned at 38-40hz
