I have a 97 Bravada, and Im attempting to find the best grounding point. Amps will be in the cargo area. I have 4 cargo tie downs in the carpet in the rear floor, looks to be the best option. Just wanted to check with those of you who have similiar vehicles (jimmy, blazer) to see where you put your grounds.

Bravada...that should mean you have the spare in the hatch, right? in my 98 blazer i grounded the amp to the spare tire mount. its welded to the frame (im pretty sure), so it makes a good ground. just make sure you sand very well

you can do it pretty much anywhere where you can get bare metal and be able to drill a screw. ive seen some people mount it under the seat belt holder thing(sorry im tired) and if this doesnt make any sense im sorry

Nope, spares underneath the car.

i did what xtrm said, my rear seats fold down so i took out one of the big ol bolts holding them in and put my ground ring on there and cranked it back down.

works good and lets me hide all the wire under my carpet.

edit: haha im stupid bravada isnt a car, but it should work just the same.

i recall reading in a thread here recently that the seat bolts are bad ground spots...or maybe it was the seatbelt bolts. i dunno, ive never used them, so i couldnt tell you. i guess if you run into problems, keep that in mind.

Take a DMM...run a wire from one lead back to the negative post on the battery, take the other lead and hunt around. When you find a spot that reads close to zero ohms, that's it.
