Finally, I'm putting together a NICE system (HDC3)

According to the Pioneer website I have 4V outs, one of the main reasons I got this receiver over other Pioneers.

And as far as 35 being high, I was told by Audioque to tune between 35-37

Man, tuned to 35 is a tad high, but with ssf set low, you should not be having a much of a problem with dub. Like I said, turn the ssf all the way down to 10 and raise it just a hair, gain @ half should be fine, you should double check that with a DMM though, if you cannot tell by ear the change in pitch when the sub clips. You have 2v pre's. If I were you, I would shop for a 1/2 din eq/line driver to help get the pre amp voltage up and assure a good system headroom(not to mention some useful eq options )check this out:

It does..In the manual, it showed 4v and then below that, it had P4400BH in parentheses right above the 2v statement...my bad. I read that wrong.

What is your F3 on that box?

Thanks for the help skyline. I think I'm gonna go with that Audioque 2200 used off these forums. Everyone seems to love them. However, for the price, I'm really considering just getting an Audiopipe 1500 and spending the $250 I'd be saving on a component setup for my front, or a really nice custom box, or dynamat!. DECISIONS DECISIONS.....
Audiopoop is not quality. The AQ1200 or b2 Quota are the two best option. or a Crescendo BC2000. You've heard mixed reviews about the Hifonics, which should tell you more than enough. If you've heard mixed reviews, that means you've heard bad reviews. You're not gonna find any honest and proper bad reviews about the Crescendo, AQ, or b2. Go with any of those, of any power and you'll be good. That car's alt should be plenty of power, especially since you don't play a lot of full tilt. I would definitely suggest doing the big 3 though. You can always remove it before you give the car back.

edit: only read the first page. I see you settled on a good amp. A "break-in" period is nonsense, just wire the sub to 1 ohm. Keep the power around 1200w though. Your electrical will still be fine if you get the big 3 done. you should probably think about getting a nice stout battery under the hood though. And if you're not hearing anything low, you might have the subsonic set too high, drop it to 20hz, it should be fine there, especially on the lower power you have it on. Maybe the box is too small, or tuned too high. Also, you should only set one LPF. Either ONLY set the HU, or ONLY set the amp. Setting them both will mess up decibel slopes and can make things difficult.

It doesn't seem like my head unit lets me set a crossover frequency other than 80, 100, or 125 for the subwoofer. THere is no option for "no LFP". Should I set the head unit's lpf to 100 and turn the amp's to 200 (or full)?

@quackhead: It was the fact that I've heard one previously and I thought it sounded bonkers. I loved the way it looked, the 3" useable throw, the lack of terminals, and the awesome reviews I read online. Honestly, this is my first box, so I'm not completely confident that I did it properly, but in the end I paid $35 for materials instead of $200 for someone to build me the box.

Dimensions are as follows:

Length 32

Width 16

Height 16

3/4 mdf

Port width 3.7 inches

Port height 14.5 inches

Port length 1: 11.55 inches

Port length 2: 16 inches (I think this is where I messed up, this should be like 8 inches)

Square Port Area: 53.5 inches

Box volume : 2.648 (minus sub displacement)

Tuning: 36 (per RE's box calculator)

I'm sure this box isn't perfect, if anyone has any suggestions for my next box, definitely let me know. I plan on building a new one in the next 2 months.... I'd like to go smaller if possible, because this thing is HUGE

I finally bought a digital multimeter (should have done so a long time ago) and wow, what a difference now that I have it gained properly. I'm running it at 43V (1 ohm @ 1800W). Sounds way better.
