Final install questions

Hey,

My amp and sub will be arriving tomorrow and I have a few last minute questions about the install. I understand how to run the RCA and the remote and how to wire the coils up and all that. The only thing I'm a little unsure about is the power wire...I understand it has to be run all the way thru the firewall and to the battery and it has to be attached to the positive lead on the battery. Here are the question:

When touching the positive end of the battery will I get shocked or is it not strong enough?

Do I simply attach the power wire to the battery or do I have to put a fuse? If so do I just cut the power wire and stick a fuse a few inches after where it is connected to the battery? Also how do I know which fuse to get?

do u not havea wiring kit? it should come with a fuse holder, which will go by the battery. and as far as shocking yourself.. dont u know you should disconnect the negative terminal on the battery? that way you wont short anything out when your installing. and as far as your concerned, get shocked. which you wouldnt, seeing as there is something between you and the wire (the rubber around the wire itself)

Ok so tell me if this is right:

1. Disconnect negative terminal and put it off to the side.

2. Put the fuse that comes with the wiring kit in line with the power wire

3. Hook the power wire to the positive terminal on the battery.

Nothing has to be done with the fuse box right?

i always leave my fuses in. just do power wire first in the amp, then ground.

In what? the fuse box? I was under the impression that this fuse was just in line with the power wire? I'll make a drawing lol

put on the wire and take out the fuse first then put it to the pos on ur amp replace fuse if u want "compitition" you gotta go 18" away but it dont really matter you want a fuse as to not break stuff

So ur saying put the fuse holder on the wire, hook it to the positive on my amp, then put the fuse in the fuse holder? And it has to be 18 inches from the battery?

2 it dont have to be 18 inches away unless ur gonna compete

what kinda fuse do you got or which amp kit do ya got

like anl, inline and maxi fuses

if ur unconfident take off the negative first then follo the pther prcedures putting on the negative last make sure it and the positve arent lingering around while your wiring

umm for safety reasons i say i should be 18in max no matter what your doing

Also make sure you protect the wire going through the fire wall, like a grommet if you drill your own hole, and protect the wire in the engine bay with wire look or something

and no you dont need to touch it they were referring to the inline fuse on the power wire
