hey i just got my 12" D2 RE SX in the mail and i will be constructing an enclosure to fit behind the rear seat of my 1995 YJ Wrangler. Ive got a Cadence TXA-1000D amp that'll power it. My dimensions will be 32x11x16 (LxWxH) with 3/4" MDF board.

This has a total gross volume of 2.43135cf^3. Here is my design:

The RE SX has a displacement of .16cf^3. With the RE box calculator the port length is 20.75. the re calc program doesnt take into consideration the displacement of the sub, so that why i am also using Quickbox elite to figure out the length of the port w/ the displacement of the sub.

the RE shows what the enclosure will look like but wuickbox will show all the correct information. The Net volume w/o the sub is 2.163cf^3 and with the sub is 2.03cf^3. RE recommends that the 12" RE SX is in a 2cf^3 enclosure tuned to 33hz.

also would it hit harder if i placed the sub in the center of the enclosure or off to the right side?

well, the port seems small

very small

actually

it should be more in the area of 30ish sq inches

ya i use inventor, ill redo the port. you think 2 x 14.5 will be good enough? or should i go with more port area?

12-16 sq in of port per cubic foot

So, you are borderline. I would increase the width at least 1/4"-1/2". It shouldn't increase the port length enough to cause any problems, but it just depends on the space you have to work with.
