Both the 7600GS and 7600GT by far outperform the 6600GT ...
For the $150 range, I'd say X1600 XT or 7600GT ...

righteousssss... im going to go with one of those vid cards.. but first im going to focus on getting a pci express mobo, 2 gigs of g.skill ddr500 RAM, and overclock my athlon 64 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif jmac, out of the vid cards you listed, which one would u go with? the XXX? what justifies the extra 20 dollars or so compared to the other 7600GTs? that x1600 XT is also very tempting, its first review says it outperforms both the 7600GT and 7600GS!

XFX 7600GT XXX Edition:

Core - 590 MHz x 12 Pipelines

Memory - 1600 MHz x 128-bit

Pros: Obvious choice for performance in this price range

I'm not here to argue Processors. From 2 different computer forums and 1 other sound forum many people who owned AMD x2 processors suggested the duo core 2. If I go back to processors my head is going to explode!

The conroe is the best out right now. I have been die hard AMD man Since the original SlotA Athlon(99). I wouldn't hesitate to recomend the Conroe Duo.

Getting away from netburst was Intels best move in years.

imma stick with my athlon 64 3000 winchester core and buy a DFI lanparty mobo and some RAM and overclock my shiznit! woot!

These days, unless you're a die-hard audiophile, onboard sound is more than adequate ... Digital optical output ftw ...

I listened to my onboard and compared it to my augegy 2, i rather use the audegy no matter what. I love the quality and maybe dfi is just not great at onboard, but i run the logitech x530 surround and i enjoy very well
