fiberglass questions

I started and got quite a bit done on my first fiberglass enclosure today. It's actually a center console, part MDF part fiberglass, housing a 12w7. It's 2.5ft^3 tuned to 35Hz, with two 4" ports.

I got the entire top and bottom fiberglassed. It's a little more than a quarter of an inch thick(like maybe 5/16" of an inch thick). Is this gonna be thick enough, or should I throw on a couple more layers? It seems fairly thick to me, I'm just not sure how it'll hold up to the pressure it'll be taking.

Thanks alot.

sounds rite, how muhc of the box is fiberglass, if its more than 60 percent, id say add a fwe more layers...but its up to u....good luck wtih watever u choose to do! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There's more factors than just the number of layers. Most sub enclosures I build are only three layers, but I use woven 15-17oz. biaxial mat. Three layers and you can park a car on it. ( yes we have ) Got to mention what weight mat and or cloth you used as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
