Fiberglass Depth

im new to fiberglassing and i need to know what the proper thickness the walls of my enclosure should be. im using polyester resin and hand laying the mat (i cant remember what weight) in an enclosure for an infinity reference 1232w sub - 300 rms and ~1200 max. ive braced the crap out of the enclosure with spare mdf and the thichness is generally 3/16". should i go thicker? are there any guidelines to use?

thanks

Ian

I dont know what everyone else thinks, but I always use the finger test. Push in spots of the enclosure and if you feel flex, then add more glass, then I add one more layer of glass for extra support.(and yes, I know this method is ghetto, but it works) Make sure you brace where the sub is going to sit well so it doesn't crack over time from the weight of the sub. Good luck!
