Metal rods and wooden dowels

Correct me if I'm wrong but,

Metal does not dampen sound like mdf will, it will tend to make echos or resonate more than mdf. Not sure if this makes any difference inside of sealed box as I never tried using metal. But if you do, I would spray it down with sound deadener or wrap it with some kind of sound deadener just in case.

It will be encased in the fiberglass, kinda like rebar in cement. At least the outer portion will, not sure if I will be able to get to all of it on the inside of the box yet.

I dont see a problem with that, should work out fine. Make sure you sand down the metal a bit before glassing over so the resin will stick a little better.

Just hope the box doesn't blow up!! that would be a mess with the metal rods! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

good luck
