Fi X 10 box q's

So I have been tossed up between going sealed and ported I know the differences between the boxes in general. What Im looking for is someone who own a X sub and what kinda box u are running it in. I figured .5 sealed or 1.14 tuned to 32. Thanks for responses

i have been thinking about getting 2 Fi x 12's. lemme know how the ten sounds.

Judging from their t/s, they do well in normal sized boxes with tunings in the low 30's. I'd do 1.25ft^3 for the 10 and 2.25ft^3 for the 12, both at 32hz.

If I go ported it will to Fi spec 1.14ft^3 tuned to 32 with their box design. I was just curious if they did well in sealed boxes. I know both will do well just wondering from other ppl opinions.

So your telling me that Fi specced enclosure is wrong? I don't know is why Im asking. What does f3 matter anyway. I dont know what all the T/S parameters mean.

You asked if they did well in sealed boxes. F3 is the -3db point of the system, and since they don't work well in sealed boxes they roll off early and have a high F3 point. With their ported box F3 is around 31hz before being in a vehicle.

It might be a little lower if those T/S parameters are taken before fully broken in.

I was playing with win isd earlier and noticed the sealed box rolling off early and the ported box had less roll off til port tuning. Should I tune it a bit lower than 32hz? I have pretty much made my mind up on ported after playing with win isd. So now to see about tuning freq.

32hz is fine unless you play some really low stuff. You can tune as low as you'd like, but there's really not much need to go lower than 30hz or so.

I wouldn't unless you're going to spend a lot. I have seen his "cheap" work and so has others on the board. Build it yourself.

Vitveet has had some iffy boxes as of late. I remember two or three that fell apart within the last few months on here. Judging from the pics construction quality is just not that great...but he is cheap, and for a reason it appears.

I would build it myself except that I'm no carpenter tried my hand at that once and didnt go well. He has built me a box before and It was solid and I dint have an issue with it.
