Ok look, I not too long ago finally got my 2 Fi Ssd 15s installed in a custom ported box tuned at around 35. I have it on the Hifonics Brutus Bxi2006. That amp is supposed to be 2000 rms and my subs are only 800w but i also added the BP Power and copper coils. I have the gain on the crossover all the way up and the gain on the amp almost all the way up but both bass knobs are all the way up and it's like the subs are like inhaling all the power with like no problem. the subs are wired down 2 one ohm so it's getting the full power. I mean it sound great! I love it i mean i could buy scott some lunch or somethin even if the shipping did take long. But it sounds like it could take more. Should i get a better amp, get another Brutus and have one on each sub, get a line driver, what?

i think ur gonna fvck up your subs with all the gains set so high, your probably sending them a clipped signal. i would vote for a new/another amp, and have someone who knows what their doing set the gains and such so your stuff doesn't blow before you have a chance to use it.

If you have them both wired to a final loaded at 2ohms, your not NEAR getting 2000rms from that amp. Your under powering teh subs a pretty g00d bit.

So I doubt a little clipped signal is gonna mess them up.

i thought he said he had em wired to 1 ohm.
After reading again, He said I have them wired 2 one ohm....

GREAT spelling on his part.

With this said, maybe he does need to chill on teh gain a tad, but if he doesnt smell teh coils, I say hes 100% g00d tho.

Cause they will sure let u know when your cookin em.

lol yah i wasn't sure about his wording either. all i know is ive seen plenty of nice drivers ruined by someone just crankin up all the gains 'so it gets teh most loud'

any clipping can mess a speaker up, will it? probably not Can it ? Yeah... distortion is distortion... I'm curious as to how the op set the gains...

You are right.

But If he spells like that, Id hafta guess he doesnt know any better.

And Ill be ok.

There ARE plenty of people out there riding with GAINS wide open and havnt messed up anything.

Yeah, it possibly could, but hey its not my sub?

lol i thought it was at 2ohms as well... i would be more concerned then.... specially with the bass boost all the way up etc... im gonna guess the head unit settings arent too far off of what the amp settings are at and predict a possible "I blew my ssd's" thread in the near future

Like I always say.

There should be a test, to buy anything over 750rms. Amp or sub.
