as lilmaniac said the V4's aren't quite as loud but sound amazing. With a pair of them you can get some good output though. Also I would still say to get a Sundown 1500D all around great amp.

I'm using the peerless as midbass. can't compare.

Well, how loud do you want to be? If you don't mind not haveing Earth shattering bass, the Mag

V4 may suit you, it is well made, sounds great and only needs 1 cube sealed. Now if you want to be quite loud, the Mag V3 would be a better bet, but you can only get them used now. The Q would be a good substitute for the Mag V3, but the majority of people think the Mag sounded better. I think you will be happy no matter what you get.

ok i found someone that has a Mag V3 for sale locally for $200

Also there someone selling a Q for $180 shipped.

both look in good condition.

Hum or should i go with the V4's $500 new

I just bought a Sundown 1500D today!!!

Well, I believe 2 Mag V4s will be as loud as 1 V3 or louder and sound better, but as you said, they will be $300 more. I think you should go for the Mag V3 for $200.

It's really up to you man. They are very similar, and I am sure you will be pleased with either. Especially off a 1500 - that's what I had my mag on and it loved it. I'd go with the mag, but I am biased. You will see less and less mag's around though because they aren't made anymore.

Personally, I don't think it's going to matter all that much.

With three sets of Hex's, you have to ask yourself just how much SQ you're actually after...

I would say go for the used mag V3, or Q whichever feels right when ya see it or price wise. I would say the mag but I am a little biased, and Nick has some great customer service and seems like an all around stand up guy. I can't say anything bad about FI and their products though since I have had no personal dealings with them, and have heard nothing but good things overall.

Personally after all the talk of them I really want to try a single 15" mag or Q at some point just to see how they compare.

You should be very happy with that amp, gobs of power and will stay pretty cool while putting out too.

YOu can do the new mags in 2 cubic feet sealed, the others are goin ina larger ported enclosure right? Space is an issue too remember - its nice to have a trunk - for subwoofers!
