FI Q or JL W7? Help me decide...

Its an old joke around here, nothing more. Why would I try to trick someone into breaking a rule? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
lol, well i try to follow the rules. also i like your sig i see TOO many people saying small amps blow big subs etc. the truth is small amps work fine on big subs, gain happy newbs are bad for large subs.

of course i believed that small amps fried subs after a period of time, until i learned how to set my gains.

I just want to beleive JL devoloped the W7 to be a perfect match for their / series amps, that why they did the 1.5 Ohm DVC. So the guy at the shop tells the will consumer" look at this power rating for the top of the line KING OF BASS W7, only the JL 1000/1 amp will make it the HOLY SUBWOOFER JL designed".

Cause I have been told that by a JL dealer!

I'm not hating on them, its smart marketing. but now we have the cheaper Alpine PDX that does very close to the same thing.

well thats generally true, with a small amp you will fry a sub if ur dumb, because it wont put out the power that the noob wants so he ends up driving it into clipping and frying the speaker that had a higher power handling. but thats off topic lol

well cant you listen to both and see which you prefer? Or get the w7 and if you decide you dont like/want it, sell it for a profit and buy a brand new Fi Q and have money left over. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

try to rephrase that, the definition of impedence is electrical resistance...
Why would I rephrase my correct statement? Resistance is for DC and impedance is for AC. When you attempt to measure the impedance of a speaker with a DMM, you're actually measuring the DC resistance. Get a degree in EE, then argue me.

yeah i have a fluke meter, kinda old, but when my leads touch, i get .04 ohms. which i am not **** about as im not using for testing electronic components(mosfets etc) and don't really need dead on accuracy. but i am sure the leads need to be replaced, their probably 10 yrs old.
It may need to be calibrated, if it's possible.

never knew it specifically referred to ac, either way dont be a cocksucker cuz that was the first time you didnt look like an idiot after hitting the post button...still managed to look like an asshole tho and i doubt you have a degree in anything but felching.
