FI Q or JL W7? Help me decide...

i just got rid of an FI Q 15. i would take it ALL day over a w7. but for the price hes asking i would just buy your own from fi. and for a little bit more money you can get a 15 or 18 Q.
so if i was you, take your money and buy a brand new fi Q from FIcaruadio.com
Does FIcaraudio.com have a website?

I have love'd all of my Q's, but they read weird also. My current Q reads 1.6 on each coil, for a total ohm load of 3.3...

that normal for that sub if you account for resistance of DMM leads. FI's subs are made in dual 2's(1.4 ohms per coil) and duals 1's(.7 ohms per coil). if you touch your leads together on your meter subtract that from your readings.

i like fi's voice coil configurations as it helps with counteracting impedance rise.

Buy both of them, and then sell the w7 for like $600 and you have yourself a free woofer.
i beat up people that list w7s for 600. btw y'all brand new w7's are right around 600 online

id show him that he is asking too much, then do 250 for the jl, sell it for like 400 to an idiot, then jew him down on the fi buy it for 200, and then buy another one,

Make sure if you pick the W7 you can get a amp for its stupid Ohm needs if you want to get its full potential
What the hell are "ohm needs?"

That's perfectly normal. You're reading DC resistance, not the impedance. The impedance will vary with the frequency the sub is playing as well as impedance rise due to the installation.

They have two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If you touch the leads together on a DMM while measuring resistance, you should get zero. In such a case, taking your advice would give you the exact measurement the DMM is displaying. Maybe your leads are adding resistance. Time for some new ones.

that is the website, maybe your playing games with me or something i dunno.
i have a feeling you were trying to trick me into breaking this rule.
"You also agree not to post commercial advertisements anywhere on the forums."

because im 100% sure you know the fi website.
Its an old joke around here, nothing more. Why would I try to trick someone into breaking a rule? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yeah i have a fluke meter, kinda old, but when my leads touch, i get .04 ohms. which i am not **** about as im not using for testing electronic components(mosfets etc) and don't really need dead on accuracy. but i am sure the leads need to be replaced, their probably 10 yrs old.
