Fi q no louder on new amp!!!???

i dont see anything strange here. more power doesn't always make as loud you may think. I have compared a jl 250 to a mb quart 1200.1 and was SHOCKED. Cone area is the best way to increase the db's

but doubling ur power should not make it less loud. Something is wrong, brcasue that Q should be moving some air with 1200. MY 15 SSD moves a ton of air with 1100, gets pretty low too

it did not make it less loud. the 1200.1 was by far louder it was the difference that shocked me. I was excepting a huge gain. He said his new amp is louder but not much.

Double power yields a 3db gain, so you are looking at maybe 4-5 db gain from that power increase in a perfect world.

However, the world isn't perfect. You are obviously losing something to voltage drops, but you may have been expecting too much from simply increasing power. A db or two isn't going to be very noticeable to the ear. Get the voltage issue fixed, then meter the system with both amps. If you still don't see approriate gains, your problem may lie elsewhere.

today i doubled my power went from 425rms per sub to 800rms per sub so 850 to 1600 today although it was noticeable the power difference it wasnt a huge difference

and my electrical is pretty good as you can see it in my sig i am only dipping down to 12.7 at full tilt at idle with no big 3, and only using 16 guage speaker wire for my subs maybe when i upgrade that it will be a lil louder since 16 guage cant support much power

well you should be above 13v or your alternator is goin to fry on you eventually. the big 3 will do wonders.

try 14 gauge wire.

the ed is rated at 12v. so at a normal electrical you should be getting 1300 to 1400..

Sounds like your electrical system is the limting factor. Improve your charging system first.

You are correct, the trailblazers/ envoys factory charging system sucks....def should consider a h.o. alt
