I recently got a treo ssx and now have a 12" FI Q sub laying around, i dont know much about home theater but i was wondering if i could make a box and turn the Q into my new home theater sub, i doubt the box should be complicated at all to build but i was wondering as far as the specs go what should i go with and what kind of amp would be good to power it? thanks

We had another guy do 3 cuft tuned to 20Hz and it seemed to work great for him. He was using a 800W prosound amp on it and had active filtering and a high pass filter on the sub at 17 Hz (a subsonic filter). There are a few 500W plate amps that would probably work well with it too. Often these have a subsonic filter in them (tied to the bass boost as a high Q high pass filter).

Amp depends on your receivers ability to tweak things... if you have plenty of control and can run a subsonic, then just pick up a smaller prosound amp (if your sub is D2 wire it to 4 Ohms and run it on the amp mono). If your sub is a D1, its going to be harder to find an amp that will run it.

Thanks...

Scott
