Fi.......flavor of the month now

Oh ok, just wondering.
And all the motor parts etc. from Fi and RE lineup were picked from a catalog eh?

Again- your ability to read is in question. I said several of their lines are- but they do have some woofers like the MX and XXX that are no doubt built in house.

Well- as much fun as this is- I must leave. If it helps you all- just assume I am wrong. I can even admit it.

I am wrong- RE and FI and other subwoofer companies produce totally uniqe and in no way, shape, or form similar.

Okay, so they look similar. Doesnt mean they perform the exact same.

Ok what everyone is trying to tell you nicely is that you are an idiot.

Since you have no clue Ill fill you in. Every single driver made by RE Fi was made in house. Happy?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

there's only a handful of places that build parts.. and most sources overseas, and domestic.. source them...

so the point isn't valid..

All of the forum boners besides Alpine Type-Rs are generic woofers with Logos painted one. Look at the baskets, and the magnet assemblies. They are all lego woofers- RE, FI and others just picked the basket, the magnets, the voicecoils, etc. out of a catalogue and called it their own. They even have similar specs- the slight differences from the different lego parts.
Its no doubt entertaining to come to this forum and read about them all the time. lol
The Mag uses CUSTOM tooled parts.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I researched, got IDMaxs. Then blew them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and then got a Free FI Q. I wanna go back to the Maxs, but no money for recone
I actually like my type R's more than the one 12. Given there where 2, but the sq on the Fi q just dont impress me much. Will be the last time I go with a boner. I also wish I could get a set of IDmaxs. Some of the best subs I have ever heard.

Interesting thread you gentleman have formed...some of it gave me a laugh, and is quite comical. I've said it once, and ill say it again. Ignorance is bliss gentleman.

There's a couple CNC's and a few other gizmos and gadgets laying around in the shop that tend to disagree with Mr. Relax's concerns that everything is the same stuff from an overseas vendor.

About the only thing that we use in our woofers that is 'stock' is the 12 spoke basket and the gasket that goes around it.

But that's merely to keep cost down and pass the savings on to the end consumer.

Look around and see how many companies offer options to tailor the woofer to your particular install needs, aside from coil impedence.

We constantly come up with new ideas for more options to get the end consumer a woofer more specified to their particular scenario, most of which is still in the early R&D stages.

If i were a blind outsider looking in i'd definitely give it a shot, simply because you can't get a high quality product, with high quality customer service for a cheaper price...shipped to your door step.

You'll always have people who 'hate' on a particular brand, but most of which is done through ignorance mainly due to "so and so said it does this or that or sucks".

Listen with your ears, not with your eyes. Base your opinion of the products in question on what YOU think, not what others think.

This was the point I was trying to make- your woofer parts are made by someone else. I admit my intial thought that your voicecoils and magnets are made by someone else is not proven with this quote- but my point on the baskets is valid.

This entire time I was meaning to illistrate to the consensus on this forum that not every single new uber woofer is different from the last.

Seems as though the 16 year olds among the forum can't grasp the fact that some parts of your speakers are not made by hand in your build house.

Nobody winds their own coils...

That's inefficient, and the best in the world is precision econowind out of florida.

It's not efficient from a cost standpoint to build everything yourself...i'm talking all the way down to owning an in-house steel foundry to manipulate the carbon content of the steel that you use.

Unless your looking to charge 5-6 grand per sub, then at that point it would be efficient to do so.

dude your just diggin yourself a bigger hole man......quit already

From my stand point, I can tell you....things are alot different that than appear and I can give several examples. The orginal DP was based on a TC9 in looks and nothing more, test any DP in SPL vs any other TC9 and you'll see a big difference in output.

As far as parts go, I have a lot of drawing we do to produce all our parts, I've got motor, coil, cone, spider, etc. We only use stock baskets and that's about it.

Yeah I can see how someone from FI admiting (nothing wrong with it though) that they buy some of their parts and assemble them in house would prove me right and make my "hole" deeper.

Especially since that was my initial point.
