Fi.......flavor of the month now

the only reason you are talking shit is because you know I am right.. and you can think what you want about me but everyone has their opinions and I think that FI is highly overrated.. so go spend your weekly allowance from your parents and get some mediocre products that people consider "top of the line"..

lmao @ this tool.

It seems in car audio. Anything that gains a following get's hated on pretty quick. There is NO perfect woofer out there. Everyone will have a different opinion so leave it at that. And Relax I hear what your saying and I believe there is some truth to your comments. But whats funny is when a woofer that is designed differently (i.e the w7) it still gets an out pouring of hate. No matter what I've found that someone will find some reason not to like any sub that's out there no matter how many people like it. I did my research here and on many other forums and decided on the Q. But I'm not blind to the fact that there could/is a woofer out there that out performs mine. What ultimately matters is if the person owning the sub is happy.

I own the whole trio of internet brands (RE, FI, SI) and it's popular for a reason. There is great value in their products because they make them specifically and tailor to the interests of the internet car audio community. I don't remember Alpine ever asking around about what people want from their products. I don't remember a JL rep answering any questions. Polecat is the closest we have to "mainstream" and he helps out some.
The reason why these internet brands proliferate is because they have a direct connection with the customer. Could Alpine, Pioneer, etc theorhetically build a better sub than FI, SI, etc. I believe they could because of the massive amount of money they have compared to the internet companies. They are not over hyped, they perform as advertised.

And as for the weekly allowance comment, my tweeters are worth more than anything in your system.
jl reps anwserd my questions.

The reason why there is hate is because people can't articulate their reasons for not liking a sub (in many cases on this forum anyway)

I don't like the w7 because it is out of my price range. If I see one (used or new) around the $300 mark, it would be higher on my list.

And I can understand that 100%. I was actually in the same boat until I was able to find a used 12w7 a couple years ago.

see people brag on how they spend a huge load of their money on "top of the line" products when to most people, you couldn't tell the difference from your "super expensive" tweeters, compared to a regular set.. so be proud of you cool tweeters you douche bag.

haha some of you people crack me up sometimes.. normally most people around here are pretty cool but when someone (me) brings in an opinion, and people get all offended by it, they freak out and try and act hard over the internet.. makes me laugh at you fools.. only a few.. most of you guys are alright, just the few that ruin it for everyone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And, I mean Im sorry for having my opinion, and talkin any kind of shit to people, but I hate it when I just say something, and people freak out. I think the Ascendant Audio Havoc line is one of the better subs I have ever heard, Im sure 99% of people would disagree, and I haven't heard everything out there, but I can't beat 4 15" havocs for $686 and some change I got all 4 for, new, from ascendant. I haven't had mine metered, but with the same power, another guy hit 153.x with 4 in an explorer.. and I personally think they have nothing but great quality sound as well.

Anyways, I do apologize for *****ing about shit, but I would expect some people to do the same since all they do is talk shit about my setup, when not everyone has the greatest things.

you need to check out other forums, Manville Smith (from jl audio) frequents other forums and is very helpful in answering questions. It is true though, of all the forums i go to caraudio has the most company boners i see.

I do not dislike you possesing an opinion, but I do request that presenting coherently and not make attacks like "and you can think what you want about me but everyone has their opinions and I think that FI is highly overrated.. so go spend your weekly allowance from your parents and get some mediocre products that people consider 'top of the line'" and you base your opinions off only hearing one install? Have you used them yourself?

I have used the SSD and Q. In the "Great 12 challenge" the metered the Q louder than the SSD in my install the SSD was louder. How are you going to judge without considering an aggregate of installs. I attended both the USACi and DbDrag world finals was exposed to setups of all kinds. Some people competed with top of the line Focal, others with DbDrive. I just don't like sweeping statements about products unless you can articulate the reasons. I don't hate or dislike any particular product unless a) I have used it myself and b) I have tried it in different installs.

What forums? I am over at SSA and SIN some but they don't have the traffic. I have considered ECA but it is NWS for me.

well i like to follow the croud so when ever you guys come to a close ill agree with the majority......

and why does eveyone hate on the Dub7? if you havnt had personal experience with one shut up....to tell you the truth all the guys hatin on Fi have never owned the subs so shut up.......

I had limited experience with the 13w7. I thought it was extremely loud at the time. I did not like the pricetag that went with it however.

I never hated on the sub, just its price. If I can find something that's close, but significantly cheaper then I will chose that product over the w7.
