Yeah I can see how someone from FI admiting (nothing wrong with it though) that they buy some of their parts and assemble them in house would prove me right and make my "hole" deeper.

Especially since that was my initial point.

i personally am not super impressed by the FI woofers.. I have heard the Qs and BTLs, and for the money they are decent but I am heard much better for less or equal price range. You can find many many many woofers out there for better SQ for cheaper than FI, and that goes for SPL as well. I would say Ascendant, RE, even the Type-R i would pick over FI.. but that is just my opinion, and was against jumping on the "bandwagon" once I heard them.

Originally my comment was to tell everyone that these forum boners are not all entirely unique like everyone seems to think. Someone who makes the forum boner actually agreed with what I said. I never said at any point that this way of making a product is bad- in fact, nowadays it is one of a few ways to make product cheap enough to sell, and turn a profit.

I own the whole trio of internet brands (RE, FI, SI) and it's popular for a reason. There is great value in their products because they make them specifically and tailor to the interests of the internet car audio community. I don't remember Alpine ever asking around about what people want from their products. I don't remember a JL rep answering any questions. Polecat is the closest we have to "mainstream" and he helps out some.

The reason why these internet brands proliferate is because they have a direct connection with the customer. Could Alpine, Pioneer, etc theorhetically build a better sub than FI, SI, etc. I believe they could because of the massive amount of money they have compared to the internet companies. They are not over hyped, they perform as advertised.

And as for the weekly allowance comment, my tweeters are worth more than anything in your system.
