FG subwoofer boxes in my Park Ave

I figured it was time to build a neat setup in my Park Ave's trunk. I've never tried fiberglassing before, so hopefully it turns out OK. There's going to be one Type R on either side, and an amp in the middle, that way everything will be out of the way to see the air ride tank/ get to my water traps.

This is what I've got so far.. 2 layers (only one pictured), and I'm just waiting to pull it out of the car and start adding more. I only started 1 side so far.

Using 1.5 oz chop mat and some off brand Polyester Resin (ebay special //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif)

After I've got the plug side done I'm going to do the old standby, woofer ring held up by dowels, stretch fleece, then glass that.

I'll put more pics as they come of course.

looks good! change the title to FG not VG! fat fingers FTMFL??

is your car bagged? or is that a retarded question? or am I seeing things that I have no idea what they are?

Not sure how big it's going to be, lol. once I stretch fleece I'll measure it with some packing peanuts. If it ends up too big to be sealed I'll just aeroport it.

I was going to suggest that too, if the air space was too big for sealed.

Looks good, reminds me of my 93 Lesabre, still miss that car sometimes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yea :\

I've learned that using big sheets of chop mat makes for air bubbles, and those big air pockets are from before I figured that out. I've got it under control now.. lots of ripped up chopmat FTW.

Subscribed!! Looking forward to seeing the finished product....I'm a fellow Buick guy! I just put a ported box in mine today...Unfortunately I'm not able to connect to Photobucket right now so I cannot upload any pics...I'll try again later...

Adskrwj grrrr, ran out of resin today :[

Checked prices of stuff around here and it's all expensive, so I ordered another gallon online where I got my first gallon.. so this is on hold for a few days until it shows up.

On the positive side both parts are ready for trimming and I can get the sub rings mounted and such.. prolly tuesday or so I'll get some pics of that neat stuff.
