LMAO @ calling me ungrateful, wow i post a few videos of my car, so what, you go in and bash it. But i dont see you bashing anybody else's video threads. And I have been through a lot of setups, and i contribute to my share of knowledgeable posts.
You're not specially chosen for me to bash on. you probably caught me on a good day w/ your vids. oh well. Anyhow, I still you as ungrateful with your first post in this thread. Tired of Rudy's and Fox's bashing? They give damn good explanations why products are either inferior or superior or shouldn't even be called 'deadener.' But folks like you and BBT seem to just dismiss all the great provided info, courtesy of Fox & Rudy, and just see it as they are bashing your inferior deadener.

I can deal with your attitude towards me, for all i care its just the internet. And just to make things clear, when i recommend a sub/amp/ or anything in regards to car audio, i post my honest opinion. When someone creates a thread on recommending a sub, and I say Lethal Injection or Flatlyne, its either because i own it, or heard it. But i never bash any other sub just to recommend this, you make it seem like thats all i do.

It's nice to meet you teapot, I'm kettle, and all I do is talk shit, which is half true.

And trust me i am grateful for all the stuff i learn, and i do my best to contribute myself.

Even if your edead does not fail, you have to use alot more sq footage to achieve the same result as with less of a better mat. So in the end you dont save any money, possibly spend more than you would have and have to do 3-4 times the work.

Asphalt is incapable of "absorbing" vibrations - as is unconstrained butyl. Your assertion that it works is false and unsupportable. You are mistaking doors that are heavier than they used be for doors that are less resonant. When you've used a proper butyl/foil CLD and can compare the results to what you are endorsing, you'll have something to say that's worth listening to. Short of that, you are making recommendations with no foundation.

I know it is asphalt based.........OMG, yet it has stopped my rattles and made my stereo sound much better......and cancled out some road noise to boot!

Maybe.........just maybe it will fall off one day, I don't know, but I tried to pull some of the fatmat off my doors, just to see how well it was sticking and I couldn't even get it off.

Now I know........dub, you will have to scrap the shit off with a sharp tool......like foxpro, haha!

Anyway......I am with NA RSX on this one.

This is where you transition from self deluding ignorant bliss to dangerous. I don't know what Second Skin product you have in your car, but to suggest any parity between it, or similar products, and Peel & Seal is either dishonest or proof that you lack even basic observation skills.

Duct tape will stop rattles if used properly so by your rationale can we conclude that it is as good as Dynamat Xtreme? You've also never explained how paying more for FatMat than the identical product purchased at Lowes makes sense or why anyone would want to follow that example. You'd actually have more credibility if you were trying to persuade people to use Peel & Seal - not much, but more. I hope you mean it this time when you say you are done with this topic. I absolutely believe that your contributions are extremely counterproductive for anyone trying to get to the truth.

News flash: eDead is not deadener. It fails the requirements for being a deadener. Read my signature as that sums up the experience.

Truthfully, like BBT & na rsx, I'd be tired of Fox's and Rudy's 'BS', too, if they always post factual info about why a product I use sux and if I can't debate back with an argument that's worth a shit...

Indeed... I have seen at least one failure of most products besides Second Skin. I have seen failed Edead, failed Peel and Seal (some in my own cars), failed old Raamat (when it was asphalt, not the new stuff), failed regular Dynamat, failed FatMat, etc.

But has anyone seen ANY pictures of failed SS Damplifier in a car ? I know I haven't.

IMO... for a job like dampening that you never want to have to do again... just get the best stuff even if you have to take more time to save up or do a little at a time.

Also not sure, but Rudy i know you did an amazing test and edead failed, yes, but how long ago was that. Have you done a new test with the new edead? If not you should, then that should put everything to rest.

What JamesBang doesnt know is that your facts come from an old product of edead, as well as FoxPro, etc. New edead is better, and i would love to see a test, same test with the new stuff. that should end this epic battle between deadener.

i'm not sure what edead uses now and I really don't care to. I won't get fooled twice, that'll be shame on me.

I remember when they people brought up that bad batch crap. Plain and simple, by default, it was a bad batch since it had asphalt.

What na_rsx doesn't know what I did not once refer the SDS test in this thread. As stated by Rudy, he does not know what's in the new edead. Failure to read? Selective reading? asperger's? I'm not sure what your problem is.

What this discussion really is practically about asphalt vs. butyl. Fatmat = asphalt. Does it stick? maybe. Does it deaden? nowhere close to butyl in performance.
