fatmat or edead 45?

WTF! Man, I was right! Must **** to be so lonely! One day, we will be friends again! I will make it a priority...........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
And don't give me this nonsense we were not friends before. Hurt my feelings!

I hope you find your BFF and true love here. Na-rsx might be the one for u. eHarmony got nothing on ca.com.

No we weren't ever "friends."

Cute/gay of you to think so, though.

Umm, I Know I am. If it works well, why not recommend it? Everyone loves FI so much, but I don't as I have had many problems with them and they are a beloved company on here.
This is the crux of our difference of opinion. Yours is that you retain the capability of discerning the performance of the product based on your personl observation that it has not fallen off. Yet you offer no reasoning tht would allow us to conclude you have any way of knowing if a butyl mat would perform better, worse, or exactly the same. Falling off or staying put is not the only criteria.

Yes you have butyl in your car too, does that some how mean your ears are able to hear which pieces are damping better? The only realistic way to get direct observations of real world situations that would conclude any benefitial information would be to basically own two otherwise identical cars, one lined with aspahlt, the other with a quality butyl mat. Anything else will just be considered a flawed test, as the SDS is so routinely attacked. So who will step up and buy these two cars just for this test? You? Not me. That only leaves the math and science behind these products. If the science weren't so cut and dry, Id tend to listen to your side more. But there is simply too much evidence that butyl is vastly superior to asphalt to take any solitary non-scientific 'it works great for me' reasoning seriously. That is not to say I dont take you seriously, but I think your logic is quite flawed in this situation.

The sad reality is that deadening your car can make so little audible effect for all but the most discerning, and its used so incorrectly so often with too high of expectations, that even a huge discrepancy in product performances can be over looked or masked by other factors. This is what is happening in your case with suggesting an asphalt mat 'works fine'.

I have to admit you made science chuckle, just for a sec. But science is back to not being amused. Yes I speak for science fluently.

As an outside observer - holic definately wins the thread and it seems to have turned it to a joke thread. Too bad, was enjoying the debate for the last couple days.
Thankyou for the input. And yes, these threads almost always go like this: name calling, leading to pushing, leading to swings taken, back to pushing, ending with uneasy jokes to break the tension in the room. We are at the final stages now.

Cute - how about interrupting your string of bad advice with an explanation of why you continue to endorse FatMat over the identical product available for less at Lowe's or any roofing supply house. I thought your position is that price makes it a winner? Unless you somehow believe that the blue inked on logo improves the performance of Peel & Seal, you are not only wrong, but your argument is internally inconsistent. Shouldn't we be wondering what would lead someone to behave that way?

Who mentioned 4 years genius? I clearly stated 2 years. Either way, 4 years... 2 years... you are sporting V1 and yes, have been defending it. Am I not being clear enough for you? 2 years, V1, you ****.

I had some v2 and it failed just like v1, so im not sure what the did.

Unless they sold me some v2 saying it was v1 which would not surprise me one bit.

And Im assuming you cleaned the surface properly before hand? How did it fail exactly, if you dont mind giving a few details?
Id really like to understand the seeming inconistancy in eD's mats. NA_RSX's was fine, many other's haven't been so lucky. Even with eD's apprently appalling quality control, you'd think their supplier would be more consistent. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif This stuff isn't hand made. Odd.

Even with me quoting this, this posts will just go ignored just like every other great point you've made.

Thats very interesting, so your saying that FatMat and eDead are re-badged roofing material?

Thought I would toss in a convo I had with E-D. Keep in mind that the correspondance took place after the guy ditched me on their live chat...

Hello Tim.

Im sorry if you felt neglected in our conversation, im sorry, as that was not the intention. I was busy taking care of other customers.

150 watts should give you everything you need for output from that speaker.

Thank you.

Me~

No offense taken at all. You have been a great help.

For future reference - I wouldn’t tell your customers that you were busy with other customers. It will make them feel less important than the other customers. I deleted your ‘excuse’ below and now it looks much better. J

Anyway, thanks for the help and it looks like the sub will fit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Tim.

If I can help with anything else, just let me know.

I didnt mean to make you feel less important, just answering everyones questions equally in a round robin manner. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif No one gets special treatment. DID HE JUST SAY THAT?

Thank you once again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me~

I didn’t feel left out at all I received what I was looking for.

One last thing and I will let you go ~ I would have left out the special treatment comment or at least state that “Everyone gets special treatment”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lmao! They should consider hiring somereal customer service reps instead of the high school moron.

Lier, we always were friends! You used to look out for me like I was your dog that ran away from home for a minute and then you found me. You would yell and be pissed for awhile, but you got over it. Samething will happen and you know it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Dam dood, your fingers hurt?

I could always do my rear doors to see how those do in secondskin if you front me some cash, lol! Back doors are Currently undeadened and the difference from front to rear is unreal! Heavier door, more a thunk sound, instead of a tin can sound and the sound I get is a lot different. Last time I sold my system, I put all factory speakers back in and the front sounded a lot better. So it is helping in more ways than just having something stick to my doors.......which most said it wouldn't even stick in verticle areas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

And I can hear a major difference in sound overall. Tighter bass response, less flex, and overall just sounds better.

Also this is not the first time I have installed some mat. Used many products from Hushmat, Raamat, Cascade, dynamat, Secondskin, peel and seel, obvious fatmat and a couple others not coming to mind, rather in my install or friends. Even helped a couple people with the fatmat and they like the product.

So its not like I have never tried anything else.

I have used peel and seel and sorry, but not the same stuff. I told you this before, is not as thick, was harder to install and........just not the same. I don't care what you tell me.

With that said, many people have had good luck with peel and seel and my good friend still has it in his car with no complaints.

It did a pretty good job about sticking in most spots, not all as some peeled off under its own weight.

However in multiple spots in different locations the mylar peeled off the "butyl" mixture. I even took some pictures when it happened and sent them to ED asking for a replacement product, and was told I must have installed it incorrectly.
