False Floor for Tahoe

Not quite finished. Got a little more work to do. I'm adding a streetwire light, & need to finish dressing out the wires, should have pics soon...

PROMISE !!

The relay keeps you from burning up your head unit. What I learned from this project is that, when you start adding fans and stuff to your remote wire of your head unit, you start to create a load a little too demanding for a single remote wire. The relay allows you to add a power wire to the relay, which will keep the load off your head units remote wire...something like that...
what kind of a relay? Your project got me interested in something similar

Yea, it's plexi glass...I get scrap pieces from my local plastic shop, help with the price point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
ahh true.. im livin in queens ny theres gotta be a plastic shop around here but by jesus i have no idea where aha

anyways about how much did ya pay for that piece?

That looks sweet for sure. Have you thought of adding a temperature sensor so the front fans aren't on unless needed. The rear fans will probably exchange the air in that small enclosure pretty well. I know they aren't terribly loud but can be a small annoyance at low volumes. Just a thought...... Very nice work.

Good point, they are quite, one of them that is, but with four powered up, it's more noise than I thought their would be. I am seeking SQ.

You think my local car aduio shop will have one of those senor thingies? Thats were I got my relay.

it was recommended from my local car audio shop (radio-active car audio). They told me about it, seemed they knew more than any other place I went.

Very simple piece -- cost me $6

$20, little more, b/c it's 3/8" thick, and actually, it's polycarbonate (just like plexi glass, just a little stronger)

Way different than my false floor.

I used a 1/2" rabbeting bit on 3/4" MDF.

Its also smoked plexi //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Might i suggest some Cold Cathode's for lighting.

I used 4 for mine, it really lights up the amps.

You also might want to switch out the fans to a pull pull or a push push configuration.

I read somewhere that thats better than a push pull.

Got any pics?

Just finished adding a strand of streetwire lights, does help show it off, but might need a little more lighting, good idea,

thankx

how did you mount the plexi?
haven't finished mounting it yet, but have installed a ridge for the plexi to rest on, then will drill holes and use dressy square slotted screws to finish it off

WILL POST MORE PICS !!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Pretty much hit the nail on the head with that response. Advance auto parts carries them for like $5 dollars.
