how do i take out the factory double din radio in a 2000 ford explorer xlt without mach audio...

i have read online that there is 4 holes that you need something small and long, like a nail or an alan wrench to poke all 4 spots at the same time and the radio should pop out.. i cant seem to make it work though. anyone done this before or know my problem??

its hard to poke 4 holes at the same time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i have read online almsot every ford older than 05 ish needs this. anyway around this.. i would think i should be able to use 4 nails or 4 alan wrenches or something but i cant seem to get all 4 springs pushed and get a good enough grip to pull the radio out... theres gotta be a work around iw ould think.
