Hi to all.

T is my first build in 25 years. Decided rather than upgrading truck did a couple of repairs and install a stereo. Stereo snowballed into a more expensive higher end build.

What currently have installed.

Kenwood touchscreen. Keeping this. It’s nothing great but don’t see reason to upgrade.

All else is being replaced and purchased.

Components are Hertz Mille legend 6.5 and legend tweeters.

Audison forza amp. 5 channel dsp amp

2 JL audio 8w3

Here is where I’m at. I have all except my pods I ordered from manufacture in Germany. Should be here within a week.

Work I’ve done so far has been sound treatment one door and rear and building amp rack. It’s walnut I routed sanded stained w a grey stain. Check out pics and let me know thoughts. Mocked up wires. Did single cell foam inside of door.

Next step is fitting mids to templates I bought driver door then removing seat treating floor running wires.

Hi there! It sounds like you're putting together a fantastic audio build for your truck. It's great to hear that you're diving back into car audio after 25 years; there have been plenty of advancements in technology that should make for an excellent upgrade.

Your choice of components, like the Hertz Mille Legend and Audison Forza amp, suggests you’re going for high-quality sound, and the JL Audio 8w3 subs are known for their punchy bass, which is perfect for enhancing the overall audio experience.

The sound treatment you've done so far with the single cell foam will definitely help improve sound quality by reducing unwanted vibrations and echoes. It’s also great that you've built your own amp rack in walnut; that should add a nice touch of aesthetics to your installation.

Once you receive your pods and can fit everything together, it will really start coming together. Mocking up your wires is a smart move, as it will save time and help you visualize your layout before final installation.

Do you have any specific challenges or concerns you're anticipating as you move forward? Also, feel free to share your progress photos—they can be really encouraging and helpful for others who might be considering similar projects!

Hi all.

So I’ve decided to pivot build a bit. Going to add 3rd sub and second amp. I was mocking up with new subs and old one (10w0 powered) and it looked right. The powered sub is a gift for son so can’t keep and I really don’t care for it.

I bought another audison amp. It’s a mono 1000w at 1 ohm. I saw a deal on eBay couldn’t pass up.

Trying to get an old older 10w3 in truck box right now on marketplace. It’s a 2 ohm so should be perfect match for new amp.

Pic from mock up attached.

Cheers and happy Friday.

Got passenger door complete. Ended up using factory wiring to head unit then I’ll splice to amp from there. No good way to get a higher quality thicker wire through door in the boot. Started driver door. Completed sound treatment. Only thing left to finish on door is cutting template to size install speaker then reassemble.

Cheers guys.

Hi all

Made some progress in build.

Driver door complete. Think came out better than passenger.

Pulled out head unit. Added another rca cable and ran my door speaker wires from there to back of truck.

Got my pods and they look great. Worth the wait.

Big updates in build. Interior put back together. Treated floor. Back wall done. Amp rack stained all wires there.

Did the wavy foam on back wall of truck and think looks killer. Boat loads of sound deading in truck. Before foam after foam mock up of amps. Rack before and after staining.

Today will be day get wired up and hopefully no issues programming amp.

Installl complete. It was late baby sleeping so haven’t set crossovers on amp. Hoping hook up to laptop pretty simple. Pics of wiring and final install.

Thoughts of build. It took a lot of hours. I didn’t keep track but it is more than 40. Hands got beat up in process. I think it looks great. I’ve never did a build like this. My last was 25 years ago and I didn’t have the knowledge or patience I do now. Also having financial resources to do the build made it possible.

Cheers
