Extras needed for running 800w?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I just wanted to throw this out there to get some opinions.

I ran a 500/1 and 300/4 in my '93 S-10 blazer with no stock electrical system upgrades, save for an optima battery. Ran the the stock Alternator. I knew I didn't need one, but I ran a stinger 1 farad cap for insurance.

Gonna run the same set-up this time again in a Lincoln, but minus a cap. I should be good with the factory alternator and battery right? No need for a cap or power cell?

(FYI: Blaxer stock alternator is 105 amps compared to the LS alternator at 140, so I'll have a higher power Alternator by default).

Might just need the optima battery but you'll probably get dimming. My cousin gets bad dimming from just a 500/1. He drives a 04 Impala.

I had a bxi 1606 running on a stock 90 amp alt, with NO dimming.

The OP should be fine. dont waste money on a cap, get a good batt instead

That's what I figured. I'll just get an Optima battery again. I was pleasantly surpised when I found out the LS stock Alternator is 140 amps. Thats just as much as powermaster upgrade for the fords. Unless you are building a SPL vehicle then they offer specialty 300 amp alternators.

But for my application, their Alternators are the same as my factory one.

i talked to these guys a couple weeks ago, they said, figure on 70 amps per 1000 watts

so if you wanted to do a 2000 watt setup, yould need around a 140 amp alt

Wow, so I am more than good with my set-up. I thought I'd be good but I guess I got a big buffer.
