I have a wire run in my truck that fits just far enough to reach the back.. I need to extend the wire but I pretty sure you cant just wire an extra one onto it because its so thick.. is there something I can buy like an empty fuse holder kind of thing so I can add more wire to it?

There's no need for a fuse holder, splicing, or a distro block.

Stinger has a coupler which is the cheapest and safest way to do it. I would NOT recommend splicing.

also heard you could use ring terminals on both ends and use a bolt and nut and washers to connect the terminals but i would use a fuse holder

This is do-able, obviously you need to be sure and tape up the connection so it has no chance of shorting. We do the same thing at work fairly often.

The coupler mentioned above, a distro block or fuse block would be my choice if it was my car though.
