Everything was working until..

First post and need help in troubleshooting. Problem started while trying to get rid of a ground noise problem. HU is an eclipse AVN5435 w/ an old school Soundstream 350sx & an Infiniti Basslink and was installed in January. I have grounded the rca's and yesterday, decided to run dedicated power & ground for the HU directly to the battery. HU is working but amps won't turn on.

All fuses have been checked. I thought maybe the remote wire got pinched, so I ran a separate wire from amp turn on wire from HU to amp, still no power.

I didn't have access to a voltmeter last night and was using a small 12 volt bulb to check for continuity. If I touch the bulb's leads to both amp's power & ground, the light turns on. What else should I check? This was on a working system & the only thing I changed was to run the HU's power wire & ground directly to the battery.

Have you tried connecting the HU back up the original way to see if the amp turns on?

Unless you had ground loop issues, why did you even do that?

see if the amps turn on if you jump a wire from the +12v battery wire to the remote. you might've somehow fried the remote circuit on your radio

Yes, there were ground loop issues I was trying to get rid of. I only re-wired the +12v constant & ground, that's why I can't figure out why the amps would not turn on.

I tried that and still no power. I'll try to take out the amp tonight and power it with a small 12v battery, and see if it will turn on. The HU has 2 remote wires, tried it both, still dead.

Anything else I should check?
