everything is basically new, but not working

I have 2 amps and I was trying to run my subs from my 2 channel amp and everything else off my 4 channel amp...My 2-channel won't run my subs, it keeps cutting out in protection mode. I know to start with ground wires, but what is considered a good ground? amps are either going to come on or not, so with a bad ground they won't come on at all. I rewired everything, and then rewired again, this time using 4- gauge alll the way to the distributer block and then had to downgrade to 8 gauge to my amps. I rewired my woofers. I'm using good speaker wire that came off a roll, I cleaned the battery good..2-channel is cutting out on protection overload as soon as I put power to it. My subs are 10 inch 4ohm P1 subs, which I think are trash. I already burned up 2 JL's and 2 Sony's which I think are bigger junk. I've owned Fosgate stuff all my life. The new stuff seems to be junk. Thank you kindly for any help in advance.

if they're single 4 ohm subs, im guessing they are each wired into a channel at 4 ohms. In this case, chances are you not getting very much power to each sub, so your gain is probably set too high, throwing the amp into protect.

what amp is it?

Now I have my 4-channel running my subs and my door speakers . I'm still having the problem at high volume. What is a dmm? and it's only these subs that I'm having a problem with.
