Alright folks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have got to equing my system and im not too sure where to start, i have a pioneer head unit which has a bloody huuuge amount of settings to be tinkered with, mainly aiming to eq the subs first, i have 2 12" subs what range should i be looking at setting the crossover. So far i have the cross over at 125 at the HU, so i can then restrict it at the amp, is this the correct way to do so?

In night clubs we usually set cross overs around the 75hz range.. but i just dont know when it comes to car audio lol!

And is anyone clued up on Pioneer Head Units, a quick low down on the settings wouldnt go amiss, ive read the manual online but it isn't the best user manual in the world! the model is the Pioneer DH P55BT

Thanks in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I dont know what kind of EQ settings that HU comes with but it really is all up to you. I have my High pass filter set to 125 as well, have my bass centered around 80 (lowered to 63 or 50 for bumpin). Be more specific about crossover. LPF or HPF?

Also Im no sq expert someone else may have better advice

No worries, and cheers for the reply!

I have the hpf set at 125 for my 6x9s (i know i know, 6x9s are awful, dont worry they are going this week lol) but as for my subs i think ill change the hz down to 80ish on the amps, i was just unsure of what to clip it down to in respect to the size of the woofer etc!

The back of the monoblock amps the settings are gain, hz and bass boost, i have just set the hz to about 90hz (on a scale of 50 - 250hz) the gain to 3db (on a scale of 0 - 12db) and the bass boost to just under half way.

Ive not turned the subs up all the way etc as im trying to wear them in gently at first!

sounds better already after just bringing the LPF down from 125 to 90 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

can you recommend any test tracks to play on the system for calibration etc? thanks!
