headunit->30 band EQ->amp->active crossover->mids and highs.....or

headunit->30 band eq->amp->mids and highs...or

headunit->amp->active crossover->mids and highs

is the first one pretty pointless or would it work? I am trying to figure out how I am going to set up my car. Not sure what headunit yet, thinking of the pioneer 880. if the 30 band eq route then something along the lines of the arc audio version. active crossovers I would probably use audiocontrol. The amp is the Memphis MCA5004. The speakers are Memphis MSYNC8's in fiberglass door panels.

what is your planned setup?

ummmm,

headunit- not sure yet. between the Alpine DVA-9861, pioneer 880, and eclipse cd5000.

Amps- Memphis MCA5004 and MCD2500

Subs- (4) soundsplinter RL-i8's

Componets- Memphis MSYNC8's (doors) MSYNC5's (kick panels)

Your active crossover goes before the amp...a passive crossover is after the amp. You can get a nice AC piece that has a built in 30 band EQ and Crossover instead of having two seperate pieces. Where are you buying your DVA9861 or 880prs from? PM me for a price on both //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

EDIT:springy and Ng beat me...

get the Eclipse CD5000 has a 9 band parametric EQ is comparable to the 16band dual on the 880 in terms of processing. I prefer the parametric EQ as it gives you more control and flexibility.
