if he has 2.25 tuned to 38 you stilll stand by that statement? or if he ususe 500 per woofer?

there is NOTHING special about the lvl3 and there are aton of better soudning subs...

to the OP there is alot more to an instal than what type of woofer and how many..

if you want it to meter generally i say kiss.. keep it simple stupid..

depending on your class, power and actual space you have to work with 4 12s might meter better than 4 15s..

output and sound quality is about phasing and placement as well as efficiency and transistion of frequency response between the cars natual resonance and the sub systems frequnecy response..

my advice is to take measurements of the entire car and hte space you can build a box in.. its helkps give us an idea of where and how hard the cabin will peak as well as the proper enclosure and woofers to use.. you didn't list amp/amps or specify power so we're clueless..

The DC tuned at 38Hz would sound like shit. Tuned low like 32Hz and that DC will sound a shit load better than any sub mentioned.

ummm... dude said off the bat he wasnt trying to run Rs... idk exactly y not. And my friend claims he has a reliable source than can come through w/ some crescendos for cheap (Crescendos arent expensive as it is or anything so idk where the disbelief is coming from)... idk how true that is but he doesnt want to spend a ton on subs. It's just the 1st phase to get some fairly big bump in the wagon while he's saving to upgrade. Its a demo car... we're not chasing numbers with it. He's a flex junky and just wants to do something a little different. Idk y papermaker keeps talking about SPL vs. SQ setup... it's not one or the other... just tryn to get $hit shakin. no one claimed that amount/size of subs is the only factor of an install... just trying to get a feel of other quality subs in this price-range. DCs do sound like a good choice... no one wants to tell me anything about their prices so i guess i will have to call
