Entire System Cut Out

when i turn up the volume to about half , the entire system turns off for about 3 seconds but starts playing again...i can play it at low volume but not the way i want to bump it. voltage drops? big 3 needed? anything will help

somthing is shorting, or bad ground, etc. start checking stuff first.

under voltage or under impedance would be my guess. or a craptastic connection somewhere.
