Engine whine...cant shake it

THIS IS NOT MY PIC but it shows the concept

if this works, then the pico is still the issue

also, do not use a factory ground for the hu. find a new location and use that. ground the case of the unit and the harness to that point.

most of the time the pico pops when an installer does not remove the battery (-) before doing ANY work involving the hu and/or rca's

i already did that before i sent it off to be serviced with no avail. I cant remember if i redid it when i got it back but dont think so. didnt do it

Not to my knowledge. Which is why id never buy another Pioneer product unless it was a high end model, and used (cheap).

Only thing i'll own is an Eclipse or an Alpine. Never had an issue with them, and ive installed a shit ton of them over the years.

Kenwood and Clarion come in last for me, but thats just because of their features IMO...but now that I think about it, ive never had whine probs from either of them.

ok since i got a little more info now I guess i am going to tear into my ride later this week...this is been going on for a year and have learned to live with it but im too old for this shit now. I want a fully functioning god dammn stereo.!

1. shield rca's

2. recheck ground hu and amp to diff. places

3. what else?...drive off cliff?

ground the case of the hu as well as the harness

if the rca ground does not help, then I would assume it is something else. Maybe try a new set of rca's

I have actually found a Pioneer supertuner III tape player from the late 80's, and swapped it out with a brand new Pioneer mp3 player that had the wine problem...and the Supertuner had zero noise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
