Engine noises through speakers

sounds like a ground loop. also, it could be interferance from your ignition system. this is a known case especially when you run a high performance ignition like msd. as for the ground loop, try finding a better ground and try to ground your amp(s) and hu and the same point.

Dude,

The most common cause of this is a bad ground. It could either be the ground to your amp, but it could also be the ground to your head unit. I had this problem once myself - the installer did the ground of the head unit through a factory ground wire. Once he took it out and redid that ground wire separately - no further problems. Another option: there are small devices called isolators (can buy at Walmart) that plug into the RCA jacks of your amp. These sometimes do the trick - removes any noise coming thru RCA cables. My best guess though, is that somewhere you need a better ground connection.

also, grounding the RCA's can do the trick. What kind of HU do you have?

try re-grounding the amps first. Make sure it is touching the chassis of the car, scratched away so no paint remains on the metal.
